CC suspects it could be murder for profit and was counting on it to be the next big story for her and Barnaby Wittey’s newspaper, The Howard Beach Weekly Gazette. It falls upon the sisters, Kat and Pepper, who become partners in CC Giovani’s new venture, Private Inquiries, to carry out a formal investigation of the retirement resort.
